The mission of Inter Car Group includes taking a leading position on the market of transport machine-building, and implementing scientific and production programs by interacting with partner companies on the contractual basis.

Developments of Inter Car Group in transport machinery and foundry
One of the major goals of Inter Car Group is the introduction of know-how into the production to make freight cars of new generation and carts to them, providing enhanced operation characteristics and the reduction of costs for the maintenance of these railway vehicles.
Features of cars of new generation:
• Enlargement of load capacity.
• Prolongation of life time.
• Prolongation of inter-repair periods.
• Improvement of dynamic characteristics and movement quality.
New Generation Cars
To create the cars of new generation it is necessary to have a cart, which would secure the required dynamic features and the car movement quality with the axial load of 25 ton-forces at the train speed of 120 km/h being loaded or empty.
The carts, developed by Inter Car Group:
• The bogie 18-4129 (25 t axle load) provides with necessary dynamic data and quality of motion of new generation railcars with speed 120 kmh as empty so loaded. The tests of gondola cars with these bogies and new generation cars with axle load 23.5 t showed that dynamic data and quality of motion of gondola cars with bogies 18-4129 has a decisive superiority comparing with typical gondola cars due to a bilinear type of a central bogie suspension and using of the new design of a primary suspension and decrease mass of the bogie without springs. Measured value of factors of action on rails and crossing piece of hoper cars on bogies 18-4149 with 25 t axle load are not exceed allowable and recommended values, which are for 23.5 t axle load. Horizontal shear force which operate on rail when a car in a curved track are much less (60 – 90%) than hoper cars with bogies 18-100 with 23.5 t axle load, and strain of main area of earthworks are the same and do not pass allowable values.
This properties allow to use this bogie 18-4129 on common net of rail roads of CIS with this condition of railroad.

· The bogie 18-9817 (ICG Motion Control) was elaborated for rail cars of new generation with maximal stationary load form wheel set to rails 25 t (245 kN). Developers – companies ÀSF (USA) and Inter Car Group. The prototypes of these bogies have passed full complex of accepting mechanical run tests. The design of as a design of 18-100 bogie has central spring suspension, but the central spring suspension of the new bogie is differ from serial system of vibration absorption system. The bogie 18-9817 has bearings of fixed contact, buttress of side frames on wheel sets, tapered bearing of cassette type. Dynamic data and quality of motion of the prototypes of gondola cars on the bogies 18-9817 comparing to rail cars on the bogies 18-100 are better than data of a reference gondola car, and in accordance with project and calculation limits are equal to marks “good” and “exelent”. Indicators of the is intense-deformed condition of a way and crossing pieces at all realised speeds of movement of tested hoper cars do not exceed the admissible and recommended limits that gives the basis for movement of cars on these carts on ways with rails Ð 65 and crossing pieces of the same type without speed limits. The decision of the inspection was to consider tested bogies as passed though tests of acceptenceand to make an experimental batch of hoper wagons on these bogies which are to direct on operational tests.

Now railcars 12-9791 on bogies 18-9817, and railcars 12-9791-01 on bogies 18-4129 are being produced on production facilities of our company (tests were passed on 2007)
The advantages of the new generation cars on the Inter Car Group carts comparing to the serial ones on the carts of model 18-100:
* increase of load capacity by 7-10 %; * increase of productivity by 5-7 %; * reduction of costs for traction by 8-10 %; * increase of inter-repair period in 2-3 times; * reduction of average annual expenses for maintenance by 580 USD; * average extra annual profit by 3-4 thousand USD.

Developments OF INTER CAR GROUP IN FOUNDRY
Considering high requirements to the reliability characteristics of cart founding for the cars of new generation, Inter Car Group is working on the issues of increasing the strength of the bolsters, sole-bars and automatic couplings. In cooperation with the metallurgy researchers of Ukraine, Ferronit LLC and specialists of OJSC Kremenchug Steel Works developed the technology of melting steel of grade 20ÃË›, strengthened by applying alloying modifiers (ËÀÂ), which was tested at OJSC Kremenchug Steel Works. This technology was preceded by the development of technical solutions, that are protected by three patents of Ukraine for the steel and the way of its production. Eight more applications have been submitted in Ukraine and the Russian Federation for receiving the respective patents.
The developed technology douse not require the alteration of the existing workflow of melting steel, except the addition of the alloying modifiers, and enables to obtain the casts of the bolsters and sole-bars reaching the requested mark of grain, limit of fluidity of at least 380 MPa, and the endurance safety factor at least 2.
These characteristics underwent tests of bolsters and sole-bars, conducted by the testing centre of Ukrainian scientific-research car-building institute, accredited in the Federal Railway Transport Certification Register of the Russian Federation
So far technical requirements of «Steel casts of high strength grade 20ГЛ for car-building» and the technical requirements for the alloying modifiers has been developed and registered in Ukraine. Copyright registration certificates have been obtained.
At the same time there are ongoing works on obtaining structural steels with the use of the technologies, similar to the abovementioned, which will enable to achieve the required strength features of the rolled sheets for manufacturing the new generation car bodies. Herewith, the cost of the developed structural steels will be considerably lower than that of the steels, recommended and used for manufacturing the new generation car bodies at the moment.
